Conference 2002


The first annual conference of the Shakespeare Fellowship will be held October 18-20 at the scenic Sonesta Hotel on the Charles River in Boston Mass.

Speakers will include: Dr. Ren Draya (Blackburn College; "O Father, Where Art Thou: A Key Oxfordian Theme." ), Dr. Anne Pluto (Leslie College), Dr. Paul Altrocchi ("The Senior Ogburns' Attempt at Paradigm Overthrow: A Case Study"), Dr. Daniel Wright (Concordia University; ("No Catholics Allowed: Deciphering Reformation Rhetoric and Iconography in Henry VIII"), Dr. Roger Stritmatter, Barbara Burris ("A Room in the Garter Inn"), Ron Halstead ("Washed up in Windsor"), Richard Whalen ("The State of the Debate"), Gerit Quealy, William Boyle, Hank Whittemore, Jonnie Lee Dunn ("What's Love Got to Do with It?: The Phoenix and the Turtle Revisited," Dr. Richard Desper ("Much Ado about Oxford"), Dr. Eric Altschuler ("Searching For Shakespeare In the Stars"), Jason Moore, Ken Kaplan ("Recent Stratfordian Biography: Illusion, Fantasy, and the cooptation of Oxfordian Methodology"). Special events:

The Social Law Library of Boston will host a reception and panel discussion
on Shakespeare and the Law, 5-7 Friday evening in cooperation with the Conference. We hope to shortly announce a prestigious guest speaker for this special event.

The Saturday evening banquet will feature a special guest speaker.

Terry Ross will debate Roger Stritmatter:"Resolved, the annotator of de Vere's Bible was the author of Shakespeare's works."

The Hampshire Shakespeare Co. will premiere a special program on the Shake-Speare Sonnets as Drama and Michael Dunn will perform his "Sherlock Holmes and the Shakespeare Mystery."

It is suggested that attendees book early. The conference is held on a very busy weekend in October and there are only a limited number of rooms at each hotel.

Attendees on a limited budget who wish to economize by sharing a room are encouraged to contact Lynne Kositsky, who has volunteered to keep a list and help attendees exchange information to find suitable room-mates.
