Local Oxfordians, including OSF headliner James Newcomb, who stars in the title role in the 2005 production of Richard III, will welcome conference attendees to this picturesque Oregon townlet. The conference is co-sponsored by the Shakespeare Oxford Society. The roster of Conference speakers, listed below, is already full. Accomodations Update, August 5, 2005
The Ashland Springs Hotel is now fully booked during the conference. At this there are, however, still a limited number of rooms available in the conference block at the Plaza Inn www.plazainnashland.com .The accommodations page at www.osfashland.org lists every good housing option around Ashland. These are the hotels, inns, and B&B's in similar price ranges, all within 2-4 blocks of the Ashland Springs, Plaza Inn, and the festival theatres. The Columbia Hotel (541-482-3726) The Columbia is a budget hotel right next door to the Ashland Springs. These rooms have a shared bathroom. Other larger motel/inns within walking distance: The Bard's Inn Motel (541-462-3259) - 2 blocks to theatres, 3 to the Ashland Springs Hotel Stratford Inn - (541-488-2151) - 3 blocks to hotel, 4 to theatres Finer Inns and B & B's within comparable walking distances: Winchester Inn Peerless Hotel Chanticleer Inn McCall House Ashland Creek Inn The Woods House Cowslip's Bell Fadden's Inn Descriptions of these are all available at www.osfashland.org under 'Your Visit' and linking to 'Accomodations'. Winchester Inn and McCall House are the closest to the hotel and theatres.
