USER'S AGREEMENT AND RULES OF CONDUCT FOR THE SHAKESPEARE FELLOWSHIP FORUMS
Use of and participation in the Shakespeare Fellowship (SF) message boards (“interactive community”) are contingent upon your acceptance of the following terms and rules. By participating in the interactive community, you acknowledge your acceptance of these terms. For purposes of this agreement, "Participant" refers to you.
RULES OF CONDUCT
It is the Shakespeare Fellowship’s desire to provide an environment that is conducive to discussions about Shakespeare and the Shakespeare authorship question. This code of conduct if followed by all participants should provide a comfortable place for all to share their thoughts and ideas.
1. Show respect at all times.
2. Personal attacks are prohibited. This specifically means any text/post that is blatantly attacking another person on or off the forum, especially in a personal way.
3. Trolling is prohibited. Trolling is whenever someone is clearly, deliberately posting in a manner for the purpose of angering and/or insulting the other participants of the board. Trolling DOES NOT encourage further discussion in the long run; it only encourages personal attacks (if left unchecked).
4. Private Messages received on these Forums are to be considered private and are not to be posted publicly unless the sender of the private message agrees.
5. Posting of messages containing personal phone numbers or addresses is prohibited.
6. Bans and warnings are not to be discussed on the forums. Any inquiries or comments or bans are to be sent in private messages or via email. The moderators may choose to publicly inform the participants of a forum about bans and warnings if this is in the interest of the forum.
7. Complaints against other posters are not to be posted or discussed on the forums. Complaints should instead be forwarded to the moderators.
8. Posting of pornography, racist or otherwise discriminatory remarks, threats to cause physical or mental harm, extreme offensive language, material that breaks any law or otherwise totally unacceptable posts or links to pages that contain the aforementioned material may result in an immediate ban from the forums.
9. Spamming the forums is prohibited.
10. Not responding to or ignoring moderator warnings can lead to suspension.
11. A participant dissatisfied with a decision made by a moderator, may request the Shakespeare Fellowship Board of Trustees to review that decision. The Board of Trustees may, in its discretion, appoint a committee to investigate the moderator's decision, and shall consider the Committee's report and recommendations (if any) in reviewing such decision.
12. Off Topic (OT) discussions are not prohibited, but are restricted to the Members Only forum. There are some topics that are not appropriate for the other forums. All posts are subject to these rules. Excessive OT posts will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
13. All Forums have a main topic. When starting a new thread, participants should ensure they do so on the correct board. The moderators reserve the right to move posts to a more appropriate forum.
14. Participants should adhere to the following restriction for images that are not directly related to the topic of the thread under discussion:
- Maximum size of image file(s): 35k (35,840) bytes
- Maximum height of image(s): 125 pixels
- Maximum width of image(s): 600 pixels
15. Excerpts from other websites, of material that is easily accessible on the internet, should normally be limited to not more than around 350 words. Provide a hyperlink for readers to consult the remainder of the work and use your post to comment on the cited content. Exceptions to this rule include materials not readily available on the internet. Moderators reserve the right to edit posts to limit the superfluous reproduction of internet content, or to request posters to do so.
The Shakespeare Fellowship shall have the right to immediately terminate any Participant's use of the Shakespeare Fellowship web site forums if the Shakespeare Fellowship determines that that Participant has violated the Rules of Conduct set forth herein or otherwise breached this agreement, or has engaged in conduct which the SF determines to be unacceptable.
